Nyx Cabin

Where the children of Nyx dwell, this cabin is the darkest of all of them.

~Rose~

The grimoire is under my bed. I moved it yesterday from my backpack, wrapped it in five layers of paper and cloth and plastic.

Telling myself that... whatever's happening to me can't get me from there is idiotic. The grimoire frightens me as it is, but getting rid of it would scare me more.

I push the grimoire out of my head and start reading Wuthering Heights.

Kanaya-
I peek into the darkest cabin. Once I notice Rose I walk inside and sit down next to her. "Hello."

~Rose~

I put my book down to smile at Kanaya. "Hello."

GA: What Are You Doing And How Are You
"What're you reading?" Kanaya asks, observing the book.

~Rose~

"Wuthering Heights," I say simply, wondering if she remembered how drunk I'd gotten last night.

"Interesting." Kanaya said simply, "I assume you are no longer intoxicated?"

(That's a terrible book)

~Rose~

"Obviously," I say. "You know I don't read while drinking."

(Well Rose likes it so hush)

"Ah yes. I seem to have forgot. I was just wondering." Kanaya shrugs.

~Rose~

I make a small, noncommittal noise with my mouth as I pick up my book and turn the page.

Kanaya-
I observe her silently as she reads the book. "Is it interesting?"

~Rose~

"It is," I say after a pause, turning the page again. "Although not the best book I've read."

Kanaya-
"What book would that be?" I ask.

(By interesting do you mean horridly boring lmao)

~Rose~

"The best book I've ever read?" I ask, almost absentmindedly, though my thoughts have jumped to the grimoire sitting innocently under my bed. "I don't know."

"Well, you said that it wasn't the best-- so I assumed that you meant you had a favorite. Apologies." Kanaya smiles.

~Rose~

"There's no need to apologize," I finally look up from my book, setting it down to kiss her, my lips brushing against hers.

Kanaya-
Returning the gesture, I touch my red lips to hers. "I love you." I murmur.

~Rose~

I smile against her lips. "And I love you."

Kanaya~
I smile, cupping her face with my hand.

(I'm not saying this for no reason xD I had to read that for school, and while I usually enjoy classic literature (Jane Eyre, for example, by Charlotte Bronte was great. Wuthering Heights, on the other hand, by Emily Bronte was terrible and tortuous. Utter garbage.)

~Rose~

I pull away from her but snuggle into the safety of her arms.

Kanaya-
I wrap my arms around her, "You're so cute." I giggle, rubbing her back a bit.

~Rose~

I make a sound not unlike a purr.

The visions couldn't take me here.
