The Trees

~Diane
The hellhound pounces on Selene, knocking her onto the ground. However, if I used my blade I might hurt her as well.

With no regard for myself, I drop the blade and charge the monster. Grabbing an arrow from a fallen hellhound, I knock him off of Selene, but not before he gashed her side.

"Help me out here!" I shout, unable to stab the hellhound due to its fierce struggling.

~Ria~

I shrug. "Honestly, I don't come out here often. Could be any number of weird things these freaks let loose."

{ Candace }
I yawn, following her still. I honestly hoped nothing would show because truth be told I sucked when it came to fighting. Apparently my dad wasn't that good of a fighter too, so I blamed him.

{ Sabine }
I mutter a swear in my native tongue, forcing myself to move away from Moon Moon and towards Diane where the hellhound was. Making sure not to hit Diane I plunge my sword into the Hellhound, a large shriek overcoming the beast before it shimmered into dust.

"You okay?" I say between heavy breathing.

~Diane
"Fine," I say, panting. "How's the nymph?"

{ Sabine }
I looked over at her, she still seemed to do okay and was less panicked now that all the hell hounds were gone. When I look over at Selene, Moon Moon is curiously looking at the red gash in her pelt, her white fur making it pretty clear that she had been hurt, "Uh, I think Selene is hurt, though."

~Diane
"She'll be fine. She can handle it," I say, brushing my hand down her back. "Still, we need to get her to the cabin and make sure it doesn't get infected. I'll go talk to nymph."

After speaking with her, not trying to rush her but still in a hurry, she thanks us and heads back to her tree. I couldn't blame her for not being more grateful; she seemed terrified.

"Well, let's get going," I say, heading over to Selene. I look her in the eyes, petting her snout before picking her up. She was insanely heavy, and thankfully I didn't have to carry my sword. But I wasn't going to force her to walk like this. No matter how exhausted I was, I was going to take care of her.

{ Sabine }
Moon Moon trotted in front of us as Diane began to carry Selene. I just kinda walked beside her, wanting to sleep or something. I was feeling kind of out of it.

~Diane
I stumble a few times, but after some walking we finally leave the forest.

~Ria~

Suddenly, snake!

I raise my shield and step back, lowering into a fighting stance. The snake is large, it's body about the size of the trees around it.

"Great," I mutter, not making any sudden movements.

{ Candace }
My eyes focus in on the snake, that at first was staring at Ria. But suddenly, it looks at me, and it freezes up almost instantly as it's black slits meet mine.

I try to draw my eyes away from the creature, but something keeps me from doing so.

I bite my lip, unsure of what to do.

~Ria~

The snake freezes up for some reason, so I lunge and slam my mace into the reptile's neck/body/thing.

{ Candace }
The snake is pushed out of my line of sight, and the spell breaks. The snake seems dazed, if not angry.

I back away but hold my dagger. Crap.

~Ria~

The snake squirms and quickly rights itself, lashing out at me. I catch it's jaw on my shield and shove it away, taking the opening to strike once again.

~Lilith~
I take a seat by my favorite tree and close my eyes, dozing off into a nap.

~Xavier
Strolling through the area, I find Lilith sleeping under a tree. It didn't surprise me that she was napping now, considering she was a child of the night and all. Still, it didn't seem fair to wake her, so I just sat down across from her and waited a bit, hoping she'd wake up.

~Lilith~
Still asleep, I subconscously roll over. Instead, I fall to the ground and my heads hits the forest floor rather painfully.

"Ow..." I say, groaning and opening my eyes. They're met with Xavier, which isn't exactly an unwelcome sight.

"Why are-" I say pausing to yawn, "you here?

~Xavier
"I was just training with Sam and wanted to walk off the sweat, so I came here since it's pretty shady. I think a better question is why in the world did you fall asleep in the woods?"

~Lilith~
"Because I was tired and it's quiet here," I say, as if it's obvious, "How was training with Sam?"

~Xavier
"Good. She's great with her scythe and her powers are very useful in combat for causing mistakes, but if she could combine the two she'd be unstoppable."

~Lilith~
"Practice makes perfect, then. It's nice of you to train her, though. Is there any particular reason why?"

~Xavier
Keeping myself from reprimanding her for being out here asleep even though it was dangerous enough. I get up and walk over to sit next to her.

"Selfish reasons, honestly. I haven't had a sparring partner in a while, and dummies can get exhausting."

~Lilith~
"Well, you're doing her a favor so I wouldn't really call it selfish. I don't blame you, though. Fighting people is a good thing when you need to burn off some pent-up emotions," I say, putting my head on his chest once he sits next to me.

~Xavier
"Not exactly my reasons, but that's good too," I say, laughing. "Other than falling asleep in the woods, what have you been up to?"

~Lilith~
"Not much, honestly. I did some reading, hung out with some satyrs... Oh, and I met a girl. Her name was Makani. She was really nice."

~Xavier
"The Aeolus kid?"
